How Rally works
Quick answers for players and hosts. Tap a question to open it.
Playing
How do I join a game?
Open a game from Discover and tap Join game. The first time, you sign in with Google and set up a short profile so hosts know who's coming. If the game is full, you join the waitlist and move in on your own when a spot opens. We'll let you know.
Why does a game say “Ask to join”?
The host approves each player for that game. Your request takes no spot until they say yes, and you'll get a notification either way. You can withdraw a request any time before they answer.
I can’t make it. What do I do?
Open the game, tap You're in, then Leave game. Your spot goes straight to the next player on the waitlist. Each game shows how close to the start you can leave; after that it counts as a late cancel. Not showing up without leaving counts as a no-show, and your show rate is on your profile.
I’m running late.
From 2 hours before the start, the game page shows Running late? Tell the host. Pick about how late you'll be, and the host and co-hosts get a heads-up. Changed your mind? Tap it again and choose I'm on time after all.
How do fees work?
Rally never handles money. If a game has a fee, you pay the host at the venue. The amount is on the game page, in the venue's currency.
How are scores kept?
On a game's Matches tab, the players in a match or the host enter the score. The other team (or the host) confirms it, and a score nobody confirms or disputes counts as confirmed after 24 hours. Confirmed results add to each player's match record.
Can I keep score hands-free, or show it on a TV?
Yes. On the Matches tab, tap Open scoreboard on your match. Tap a side for each point, or turn on Voice and say things like “Point Ana”, “Seven five”, or “Undo”. The scoreboard calls the new score out loud after every change. Tap TV to cast it to a TV or open the TV view on a big screen; it updates on its own. TV view on the Matches tab shows every court at once.
What are kudos?
For 7 days after a game, players who showed up can thank each other: Great sport, Strong player, Welcoming, or Great teammate. Kudos stay on each player's profile.
How does Near me work?
Turn on Near me in Discover to see the closest games first, with distances. Your location stays on your device; to find games, Rally only asks for games in a rough area about 150 km across. Games without a map pin don't show while Near me is on.
Hosting
How do I host a game?
Tap Host a game and go through six short steps: the game, when, where, who can come, the details, and a last look. If you leave partway, your draft waits on this device until you publish it or start over.
Can I run the same game every week?
Yes. On the When step, tick Repeat every week to publish up to 12 dates at once; players join each date separately. To change every upcoming date later, edit any one of them and tick Save to the other upcoming dates too. Each keeps its own date.
How do I host a game again?
Open a game you hosted and tap Host it again (or Host again in the … menu). Everything is copied and moved to the next week, so you can check it and publish.
Can I choose who plays?
Under Who can join, pick I approve each player. Requests show on the Players tab, and you get a notification for each one. To keep a game off Discover, make it Unlisted: only people with the link can find it.
Can someone help me run a game?
Add up to 3 confirmed players as co-hosts from the Players tab. They can approve requests, manage the roster and waitlist, check players in, enter scores, and send updates. Only you can edit or cancel the game.
How do I tell everyone something?
In the game's chat, turn on Send as an update to everyone before you send. Every player gets a notification (and an email if they have email updates on), and the message is pinned at the top. You can send one every 10 minutes; everything else can go in the chat.
What happens on game day?
Check-in opens 2 hours before the start: tap players on the Players tab as they arrive. After the start, Close attendance records anyone who didn't come as a no-show. If you want, set up matches on the Matches tab: next matches for open play, rotating partners, a ladder, a team round robin, or a playoff bracket.
How do I cancel?
Open the game, tap the … menu, then Cancel game, and give players a short reason. Everyone who joined is told. For a weekly game you can cancel every upcoming date at once.
Clubs
What is a club?
A club is a group page for people who play together. You can start up to 3 from your profile, post games as the club, and members hear about new games first.
Can several people run a club?
Yes, up to 5. On the club's page, under Run by, tap Add someone and pick a member. Everyone on that list can post the club's games and run them. You can step down any time once someone else helps run it.
Your account
How do I get notified?
The bell at the top shows everything about your games. To get them on your phone or computer too, go to your profile and turn on Phone and browser notifications (on iPhone, add Rally to your Home Screen first). Email updates are on your profile as well.
Someone is being rude or unsafe.
Use Report on the game, message, or profile. A moderator reviews every report within 24 hours. You can also block a player to hide their messages. See the Community rules.
Who can see my information?
Other players see your name, photo, city, sports, and levels. Nobody sees your email or your location. The Privacy notice has the details.
How do I delete my profile?
Go to your profile and tap Delete my profile. You leave your upcoming games, games you host are cancelled, and your old chat messages show as from a former player.
Still stuck?
Email daxalegaspi@gmail.com and we'll get back to you.
